"Eden At Night - Abstract" 2004

Hi - thanks for looking at my website which is still in assembly phase. It is rare to catch my image, let alone without a camera, so apologies for communicating with my mouth full!

Since moving to Cornwall in 1999, I have reinvented myself and now take great pleasure in using a hobby from my younger days to capture, not just images of Cornwall, but general life and things surrounding me. Shots are taken using digital technology with my Nikon and often enhanced using Photoshop. I now undertake photographic assignments locally - in addition, I also use my former skills in marketing to produce press releases for individuals, groups and businesses in the local media.

I hope to hear from you if you like some of my work or you wish to discuss a particular photographic need or idea - prints of work shown and from my extensive portfolio can be supplied, prices subject to medium and size required.

Now for a selection of further images....

"Vintage Reds" 2005

A collage of details of vintage sports cars taken during the local VSCC's first social run in Cornwall. Assigned to produce a press release, I was fascinated by the precision and shapes to be found on these irreplaceable cars, and the red theme just suited the moment.

"Corporate Image" 2005

A simple collage using a major and well recognised logo - I just wondered about the original decision process for agreeing their corporate colour?

"Solitude" 2004

A magical moment captured on an early morning boat trip to the Isles of Scilly from Penzance, sailing past St Michael's Mount. Waiting for the right positioning of the sailing boat was the only difficult part, the rest was down to that unique moment in time.....

"Perfect Day" 2004

Sun, sea, surfers and a beach....a perfect Cornish day! Taken at Trebarwith Strand, North Cornwall.

"Churchtower by Moonlight" 2005

Having captured this shot of St Breward Churchtower on Bodmin Moor by moonlight, the result was virtually black apart from the moon. Thankfully, tweaking in Photoshop brought out a whole host of colour to create, I feel, an image with a haunting mood very much reflecting the actual moment.

"Eye Over Horseguards Parade" 2004

Proving that I do get out of Cornwall! This image was an experiment in tinted monochrome reflecting, I feel, the mood of the moment on quite an overcast day in central London.

"Fire & Brimstone" 2005

A fine display of natural colour over North Cornwall coupled with an unusual cloud formation. Yet another, but very special, beautiful Cornish evening landscape.

"Christmas Without Electricity" 2004

Christmas is still celebrated at remote Temple Church on Bodmin Moor. With no electricity, this small, intimate church lit by candles provides an atmospheric backdrop to an evening of carols - a perfect start to Christmas celebrations on the Moor. Image shows a candelabra hanging from over the aisle.

"Temple In The Snow" 2004

An unusual deep blanket of snow in February transformed Bodmin Moor and, as in the case of Temple Church, gave a fairy-tale look to many of the wonderful locations around the moor. This image proved popular on a Christmas card, my first venture into card supply!

"Highlights Of Brown Willy" 2004

The highest tor on Bodmin Moor, this image of Brown Willy was captured under sufferance of great pain. Standing in a knee deep snowdrift, in biting wind early in the morning, waiting for the sun to break through. My fingers were frozen but it was worth the wait with Brown Willy perfectly highlighted! It did take half an hour to thaw my hands before I felt it safe to drive home....who says there is no gain without pain. This image became another popular Christmas card.

"A Window Of Calm" 2004

It is very difficult to stop taking pictures of the changeable and stunning cloud formations from our patio overlooking the North of Cornwall. This was another of those moments, in this case the vista giving a warning of an imminent storm. It gives us time to get the washing in.....

"McTell And Friends" 2003

Zest of the West held at The Eden Project in Cornwall, gave me an opportunity to try out some stage work with superb lighting displays. The evening performance by Ralph McTell, supported by Cornwall's own Fisherman's Friends of Port Isaac, was a memorable occasion. This image, for me, captured a moment of harmony.....

"Working Out With Felipe" 2003

My wife and daughter are keen dancers and both joined a Spanish Dance workshop in Malvern. From a number of images taken, this one for me fully captured the movement and concentration of the dancers, led by renowned Spanish dancer Felipe.

"Storm Brewing Over Princess Diana" 2004

The Princess Diana Memorial in Hyde Park, London, had just opened two days before this image was taken. The black clouds, ironically, signify the storm brewing over the memorial with the subsequent problems in safety and maintenance.

It was a shame that there was no mention at the site from where all that granite came from.....from De Lank Quarry, just 1/4 mile from my home on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. We must fly our flag more often and ensure we get a mention!

"Evening On The Dart" 2003

The River Dart. An image capturing the stillness of the evening on the river estuary.

"Awash" 2003

An image of a rock off the North Cornwall coast. I just had to include at least one!

"Perfect Summer" 2003

The Camel Estuary, North Cornwall, provides a continuously changing canvas for artists and photographers. This summer shot, taken from the Camel Trail, encompassed all that the estuary could offer me that day - a perfect view, perfect weather....a perfect summer.

"Summer Play" 2004

Taken into the sun, the silhouetted figures create almost a black and white image. However, I decided to leave in the hint of natural colour from the original image. Taken at Trebarwith Strand, North Cornwall.

"Fields" 2003

The blueness of the flowers in the field initially drew my attention to find and create an image with a strong pattern of natural colours. St Mabyn Church on the skyline provided the "icing on the cake".

"Delphy Bridge" 2003

A much photographed bridge on Bodmin Moor, this Delphy Bridge image summarises much of the moor for me....strong light, blue sky, with an approaching storm!

"Morning Hue" 2003

A captured moment of a Cornish landscape, early one morning

.....and, as they say in the movies, that's all for now folks!
